Materias was a research project and an exhibition of artist's books shown alongside pre-modern and early modern rare books from the collection of the Biblioteca Francisco de Burgoa in Oaxaca, Mexico.
The library is housed in the 16th century ex-convent of Santo Domingo in Oaxaca.
Materias was trans-historical at the core. It reflects my fascination with the matter and subject matter of the codex book form that spans five centuries. From incunabula to present day books.
